Urmila and her sacrifice

When Lord Shri Ram was exiled for 14 years, his wife, Mother Sita, also happily accepted the exile as the niyati. 

But how could Lakshman ji, who was in the service of elder brother since childhood, get away from Ram ji! He had taken permission from mother Sumitra, to go to the forest. But when he was moving towards his wife Urmila's room, he was thinking that mother had given permission to me, but how will I explain to Urmila !! What would I say!! If I go without telling, she will die with crying and if told, she will insist on going along with all and will say that if Sita ji, can go with her husband then why can't I!!

Thinking this, as soon as Lakshman ji reached his room, he saw that Urmila ji was standing with a platter of aarti and said - "You leave my worries and go to the forest in the service of the Lord. 

I will not stop you. No one will be there in the service of Lord Sita Rama in the exile as there will be hundreds of problems."  If there have been no obstacle, I have not even insist you on going along."

Lakshman ji was hesitant to say.  But before he could say anything, Urmila ji threw him out of hesitation.

In fact, this is the Dharmma of the wife.  Before the husband gets in hesitation, the wife should know what is on his mind and put him out of hesitation!

Seeing so much sacrifice and love of his wife, Lakshman ji also cried.  Urmila ji lit a lamp and requested that never let my hope be extinguished.

Lakshman ji left but for 14 years Urmila ji did severe penance like an ascetic.  Lakshman ji never slept in the service of brother and sister-in-law in the forest, but Urmila also never closed the doors of her palaces and kept awake the whole night and did not allow the flame of that lamp to go out extinguished. 

When Lakshmana gets Shakti Veda while fighting with Meghnad, and Hanuman ji is returning with a mountain of Gandhamardan, Sanjeevani for him, in the middle of Ayodhya Bharat ji shoots arrows considering him as a demon and Hanuman ji fall down.  Then Hanuman ji narrates the whole story that Ravana took Sita ji, Lakshman ji is unconscious due to Shakiveda.

On hearing this, Kaushalya ji says to tell Rama not to even set foot in Ayodhya without Lakshmana.  Ram remain in the forest.

Mata Sumitra says that there is nothing to tell Ram.  Shatrughan is still there.  I'll send him. Both my sons were born for the service of Rama.

Seeing the love of mothers, tears were flowing from Hanuman ji's eyes.  But when he saw Urmila ji, he started thinking that why is she standing so calm and happy?  Do she not care about the life of her husband?

Hanuman ji asks- Goddess!  What is the reason for your happiness?  Your husband's life is in danger.  As soon as the sun rises, the life lamp of Laxman  will be extinguished.  Hearing the answer of Urmila ji, no creature of the three worlds will be able to live without worshiping her.

She said- "My lamp is not in trouble, it cannot be extinguished. If you want to talk about sunrise, then take rest in Ayodhya for a few days, because the sun cannot rise without you reaching there.

You said that Lord Shri Ram is sitting with my husband in his lap. The one who is lying in the lap of Yogeshwar Rama, Kaal cannot even touch him.  Both of them are doing this Leela.  My husband has not slept since he went to the forest.  He had vowed not to sleep. So he is resting for a while.  And when the lap of God was found, a little rest became more. He will get up soon.

And not only my husband has got Shakti Veda, but Ram ji has got the same.  Ram is in every breath of my husband, Ram is in every heartbeat, Ram is in his smallest hair, Ram is in every drop of his blood, and when only Ram is in his body and soul, then only Ram got the Shakiveda.  The pain was happening only to Ram ji.  That's why Hanuman ji, you should be sure. The sun will not rise."

In fact, even the sun did not have enough strength to rise before Lakshman ji woke up!  The tenacity of a virtuous ascetic stood in front of him.  And not even Meghnad was killed by Lakshman, but by Urmila also, as an ascetic sitting in Ayodhya.

Janak's daughters were the foundation of Ram Rajya... Sometimes Sita and sometimes Urmila.  Lord Rama only established the urn of Rama Rajya, but in reality the kingdom of Rama came only through love, sacrifice, dedication, sacrifice.
