A story on Forgiveness
A Seth ji gave three lakh rupees to his younger brother for business. His business settled very well, but he did not return the money to his elder brother.
After all, there was a quarrel between the two, the quarrel also increased to such an extent that both of them stopped coming to each other's place completely. The internal relationship between hatred and malice became very deep. Seth ji, at all times started criticizing, disrespecting and criticizing his younger brother in front of every relative.
Seth ji was also a good seeker, but because of this his spiritual practice started to falter. Even at the time of bhajan-worship, he started thinking of his younger brother. The effect of mental agony started on the body too. Uneasiness increased. Couldn't find solution. Eventually he went to a saint and narrated his woes.
Santashree said:- 'Son! you do not worry. By God's grace everything will be fine. You go to your younger brother's place with some fruits and sweets and as soon as you meet him, only say to him, 'Anuj! I have made all the mistake, please forgive me.'
Seth ji said:- "Maharaj! I have helped him and I should also ask for "forgiveness"!
Santashree replied:- "There can be no such conflict in the family, in which both sides are not at fault. Even if one side's mistake is one percent, the other side's ninety-nine percent, but the mistake will be from both the sides."
Seth ji could not understand anything. He said:- "Sir! What did I miss?"
Son ! You considered your younger brother bad in your mind – that is your first mistake.
You have condemned, criticized and despised him – this is your second mistake.
Looked at his faults with angry eyes – this is your third mistake.
Heard his condemnation with your own ears – this is your fourth mistake.
You have anger and hatred towards your younger brother – this is your last mistake.
You have hurt your younger brother with these mistakes. The sorrow you gave has returned to you manifold. Go on, ask "forgiveness" for your mistakes. Otherwise you will neither be able to live peacefully nor die peacefully. Apologizing is a great practice. And you are a very good seeker."
Seth's eyes opened. After bowing down to Santashree, he reached the house of the younger brother. Everyone was preparing for the meal. He knocked on the door. The door was opened by his nephew. Seeing Tau ji in front, he was speechless and started shouting loudly with joy: "Mummy! Papa!! Look who has come! Tau ji has come, Tau ji has come…."
The parents looked at the door. Thought, 'Are we not dreaming?' The younger brother burst out with joy, 'Aha! After fifteen years, today elder brother has come home. His throat was blocked with love, he could not say anything. Seth ji placed fruits and sweets on the table and with folded hands said to the younger brother: - "Brother! I have made all the mistake, forgive me."
As soon as the word "forgiveness" came out, the love of his heart started flowing like tears. The younger brother fell at his feet and wept for forgiveness for his mistake. The elder brother's love fell on the younger brother's back and the younger brother's repentance and The loving tears started falling at the feet of the elder brother.
A bottomless ocean of forgiveness and love broke out. Everyone was calm, silent, tears started flowing from everyone's eyes. The younger brother got up and brought the money and placed it in front of the elder brother. The elder brother said "Brother! I have not come today to collect these shells. I have come to clear my mistake, to make my spiritual practice alive and to destroy hatred and to shed the Ganges of love.
My arrival was successful, my sorrow vanished. Now I feel bliss."
The younger brother said:- "Brother! Until you take this money, the heat of my heart will not disappear. Please take this money."
Seth ji took money from the younger brother and distributed it among Anuj's brother-in-law, nephew and niece as per his wish. Everyone sat in the car, reached home.
Fifteen years later, when the whole family met at that midnight, it seemed as if only love had reached there by assuming a body.
The whole family was reveling in the bottomless ocean of love. After asking for "forgiveness", the mental diseases of that Seth ji like sorrow, worry, stress, fear, despair were eradicated from the root and the sadhna became alive.
We should also keep "forgiveness" in our heart, be it small or big in front of us, whether it is our mistake or not, all quarrels end by asking for forgiveness.
